motherfucker
terminal claims it supports both vector fonts and bitmap fonts
try some ttf fonts, everything except the most basic fonts with minimal unicode support seems to be broken, once a font expands too far it just… becomes invisible characters, not to mention that if your font has certain more exotic characters, it picks up that these characters are weirdly sized instead of strictly monospaced (a proper implementation would check the PANOSE values and see that yea no these are monospaced just weird, this terminal does not), this causes all characters to now be rendered in cells several times their actual width, great
so, i remember that the author actually uses a bitmap font and thats also seen in some of the demonstrations of the “great unicode support”, so i decide to try that as well now, starting with cozette
and thats how i found out only pcf bitmaps work, everything else is unrecognised, no bdf, no otb, only pcf, but okay, ill just look for a pcf font, cant be that hard
so i download the pcf version of tamzen, i launch the terminal with it and… certain characters arent vertically aligned
yep, it managed to botch rendering a fucking bitmap font, im so fucking done with this terminal holy fucking shit
